Beetlejuice Costume DIY

My favourite time of year is looming once again and I have been planning my costume for almost 12 months. Although this is not the costume I am planning on wearing this year, I have slightly fallen in love with this look so it could be what I end up wearing this year. If this is your first time on my site than you may not know that I am totally obsessed with doing DIY costumes, finding normal pieces on the high-street and online to create a costume, and use makeup to complete the look.

I am not a makeup artist but I have so much playing around with makeup and practicing looks here until I think it will be a fabulous costume for Halloween. This time I am focusing on a costume that I think is pretty easy to put together clothingwise and takes a little bit of practise to get the makeup just right.

One of my favaourite movies from being a child was Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. BEETLEJUICE! I loved all the creepy characters especially the main man himself.

I came across this image on Pinterest and unfortutaly could only source it as far back as an online Glamour article but I really loved it and wanted to include it for makeup inspiration. This makeup look has really gotten the balance or creepy and glamorous just right, in my opinion.

To complete this look you will need white, black and green face paint along with a bold purple eye shadow or black if you wan to keep it really simple. If you love your contouring than this look will suit you to a tee, but rather than bronzer you will need black and green products. If you wanted to go even creepier you can add some gross texture to your face and around your mouth using products like liquid latex and oats.

If you want a step-by-step guide there are a lot of brilliant tutorials on YouTube, click here to check them out.

To complete the look try pick up some green hair spray for all of your hair, or just focus on the roots and around your face for a more simple look.

Now let’s get to the fashion! Luckily there are some pretty damn chic striped pieces out this season, that you will be able to get a lot of wear out of throughout the next few months.
