Insta-Good March 2017 | A monthly round-up.

These are my favourite posts for selfish reasons, I love looking back on the past month as I capture some small moments that I easily forget, and taking a look back one month at a time I do feel I can appreciate these moments a little more.

A few weeks ago I had a conversation with my mum about winning the lottery and how so many people live for a future that may never happen. I love fantasising about winning the lotto and buying a yacht and living a carefree life, but the chances of that are so slim that I can’t wish away my life. I believe that these posts allow me to appreciate today and where I am in my life at any particular time. I don’t tend to share a lot of my lows here, but I have them. I get stressed and anxious but I try to be the type of person that appreciates what I have and how far I have come. The last month has been a pretty busy with some minor stresses and I only realise how much I get affected when I am avoiding my blog. It has been a couple of weeks since I got on here and shared anything with you guys and it is because I feel under pressure and stress and my blog takes a back seat when that occurs. I can’t say for sure that I will be back to my regularly posting as work and life is quite a lot right now but I am working on taking control and finding more joy in my everyday.

Whether you have a blog or not, I would 100% recommend taking a look back in your recent past and taking a moment to appreciate it.

Irish weather, the month started with faux fur, and ended in sunnies!

A few years ago I actually hated being alone, and felt so uncomfortable on my own in public, now it is my favourite thing! I love to get a coffee/ green tea, sit outside and people watch.

My favourite room in my house at the moment has to be my glam room! I recently took over a spare room in the house so that I could have all of my beauty, clothes and accessories in one place. If you would like to check it out, you can do so here.

Call me basic, but I am sucker for anything personalised, especially a little black clutch! This was a very generous gift from Littlewoods Ireland and I am obsessed. Shop similar here.

I certainly go through phases with makeup and at the moment I am in the depths of a Benefit love affair. I have always been a benefit gal and loved their benetint and highbeam for about 10 years, but their latest offerings are even more incredible. The new Galifornia blush has a stunning golden glow to it, perfect for Spring.

When it comes to face products and brows, the Benefit game is strong! I use these products EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

I love a little coffee date, and although I always feel like The Dean lacks good service, I do love the surroundings. I spent an afternoon catching up with Roisin from The Fashionista Insider and a coffee turned into a 3 hour catch up!

Another beauty obsession. I have found myself leaving high maintenance lip looks behind (liquid lipsticks are no longer on my vanity) and the new YSL tint in balm has taken up residence in my makeup bag. It is a nourishing balm, gives a lovely shine and has a soft tint to it. It is perfect for Summer ‘no makeup makeup’ looks when everything is sheer and glossy and glowing. Shop here.

I am always rocking my Repeal jumper, and I had to represent on International women’s day.

ONE LAYER OF TAN!!! I love when I find a good tan and the 10 second tan from BPerfect is amazing. It is a spray and dries instantly and this is the instant colour it gives you! It is perfect for Summer when you want to keep your tan topped up but don’t have time for drying or developing. See my full review here.

I know I wear too much black, if there is such a thing, but these are my Summer boots from Littlewoods! Yes they are black, but they have a gorgeous floral print so they are perfect for Spring/ Summer. I love the heel, it is a good height and the block make them quite comfortable. I also really like how far they come up on the leg, just the right amount of boot! Shop here.

Let me preface this by saying Lancome is one of my favourite beauty brands, I love a lot of their makeup and skincare but this foundation just didn’t do it for me. This is a long wearing foundation from Lancome that offers medium coverage that is buildable, but it just didn’t suit me or my needs. During the day and for softer makeup looks I wear L’oreal true match which gives me the right amount of coverage for every day. I like the finish and I find it wears well. For nights out I wear Marc Jacobs Full Coverage and it is the fullest coverage foundation I have ever worn and it feels almost weightless on. For me I didn’t feel like I would enjoy this foundation after a couple of test runs, but I knew someone who would. My mum has been wearing this foundation for a m0nth and loves it. She’s not one for setting sprays or anything like that and she found this foundation really long wearing, great coverage and comfortable.

I think foundation is quite personal and I have tried some cult products and they just haven’t done it for me. Just because I didn’t adore this foundation, doesn’t mean you won’t. You can shop here.

When Benefit invite you to afternoon tea, you throw on everything Pink you own! For me it is this River Island jacket and Vivienne Westwood flap bag.

The afternoon tea with Benefit was to launch their #RaiseABrow campaign, they charity campaign they carry out every year. This year they were supporting two Irish charities Look Good Feel Better and Daisy House. To donate all you have to do is get a brow wax with Benefit throughout April and all the proceeds will be donated to these two great causes. I had my brows done at the start of the month and they are still on fleek, if I do say so myself.

Can it really be espadrille weather?! No… I wore these for a few hours on St Patrick’s day but as the rain persisted I had to head home and switch into my ankle boots. These shoes were an absolute bargain from Carvela, €140 reduced to €20. Shop here if there are any left!!

This was a little selfie from St Patrick’s day as the only green I had to wear was my eyeshadow. I am not one for colourful palettes, but at Christmas I was gifted the Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder palette and it has an amazing rich emerald green.

The sun was teasing all month long, but I have yet to experience a day where it was warm enough to slip on this floral dress from I love the print and although you cannot see it on the hanger, it has a very sweet cold shoulder detail. Shop here.

New hair, who’s this? I added some highlights to my hair for Summer using my DIY Balayage technique. which you can follow right here.

Speaking of hair, I had to give a shout out to my ride or die products and tools. I am obsessed with my Ikoo brush which is similar to a tangle teezer but it gives you a little scalp massage while you brush, its amazing! Since cutting my hair I am all about texture but my hair is also dry so I need to keep it really nourished too.

Lee Stafford Sea Salt Spray
Platinum Shake & Protect Spray
Aussie Volume Dry Shampoo
Percy & Reed Blow Dry Cream
72 Hair Oil
Ikoo Brush

A little beauty routine at my desk. I always have the YSL cushion foundation in my makeup bag as it is the most practical foundation to carry around. I also like to keep the Mary Lou Manizer at hand to bring a glow to my face, particularly if I am heading out after a long day and look tired.

Have you beed to EATYARD yet? I ventured in with my bestie Greta and we strolled around trying so much food, sharing everything until we got to the bubble waffle truck! There was no way we were sharing these amazing desserts!

What I actually look like most days. I work from home and live in what Conor calls my sloth uniform. These tracksuit bottoms are €6 from Penneys and I had to go back for several pairs so I always have a pair at hand.

Even though I work from home, I have to be strict and get up early and work from my home office/ dining room. This means that the weekends are extra special when I can enjoy a coffee in bed and take my time getting up. Sheets are penneys hun!

THAT CHEESECAKE THOUGH! I visited the Lepp in with my family for Mother’s Day and it was so nice to have all 5 of us together for an afternoon, especially when we were enjoying such good food.

This is a picture of me edging towards death door, but appreciating my outfit. This was day 1 of the worst flue and the last time I left the house or even bed for a few days. I have a meeting in town that I could not cancel so I just had to push through but my cape coat brought me a little bit of joy.

And there you have it, right at the start of May, a month later, I am finally getting around to sharing my March. I am just back from a long weekend in Rotterdam so I do plan on having a little travel diary up on the site soon!

Stay stylish,

It may not look good, but my technique is proven! See my at home DIY Balayage post here.
