First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I have been taking a little look back throughout 2016 and I cannot believe how much changed in the past 12 months. Keep an eye on the blog for the next week as I round-up my top moments of 2016.
This post is strictly style, and taking a look back at some of my favourite looks from December 2016.
December is a time of year where I am torn between wearing fluffy PJs all day, and also wanting to get glam and celebrate the festive season in style.
Last month my favourite outfits were super glam and super comfy, so I think I struck a pretty good balance. Keep scrolling to see my favourite looks from a jam-packed month.
I had to break out a cheesy Christmas jumper for the toy show. I went up to my mum’s for a cosy night to watch the Late Late toy show with my sisters.
What I look like throughout December in general. I love my giant camel coat but my check blanket scarf and bobble hat are my winter essentials.
My friend Kellie and I attended the opening of & Other Stories in Dublin in December and we both looked pretty glam considering we had arrived straight from work.
The first of a couple of Christmas parties throughout the month. I had an amazing dinner in Lock restaurant and a few festive drinks.
What I am actually wearing most days of the time. I am so obsessed with robes that I usually wear mine around the house even after I have gotten dresses. My all time favourite robes come from Robes4you.ie, as you can get each one personalised and they are genuinely the softest little clouds you could wear.
My oversized denim shirt is one of those essentials that I reach for all the time. It is so comfortable and cosy, and I love the look of boyfriend shirts.
Conor and I went to pick up our first ever Christmas tree together so I decided to go with a lumberjack vibe. This check shirt is also from the mens section, I just love oversized and unfitted shirts, especially when worn with skinny jeans or leggings.
Another Christmas party, and my first all black look of the month. This night was an actual Christmas dinner, as in Ham & Turkey and brussels sprouts, the whole lot! I had to wear my faux suede trousers from Zara because they look really smart while feeling like leggings.
The Monday before Christmas I took a half day from work to enjoy a day of Christmas shopping with my bestie Greta. The weather was bizarrely warm for late December and wearing this faux fur jacket was a big mistake when walking in and out of shops.
Just before Christmas I treated myself to a couple of pieces from the Missguided sale and one of my favourite purchases was this jumper dress that was half price!!
Christmas day involved about 4 outfit changes, the first being my put together look above. I love this lace blouse and my faux suede trousers together and decided to break out my barely worn Louboutin Pigalles. There is a reason they are barely worn and that is because they KILL ME. The next outfit change was into a pair of ugg boots and a comfier top. After dinner I switched into my new jumper dress from the last picture and finally I got into the Disney PJs my mum had gotten me.
Last but not least, I found another way to style my favourite dress. I styled this dress two different ways in the Summer but didn’t know how I would style it for Winter. Well my over the knee boots worked a treat, along with a black faux fur jacket. This was my last glam look of the year, and I got to wear it to the George with two of my best friends.
One of my favourite gifts for Christmas was a pair of rose gold Cortez runners from Nike. I am obsessed and have worn them pretty much everyday since. I usually wear all black anyway, so these runners add a pop of fun and colour to my usual look.
I hope you had a fabulous December and an even more fashionable new year!
