October 2016 will be a month that I never forget! If you read my recent post ‘BRB, Moving House’ you will know October was when Conor and I got the keys to our home and moved in.
This month has been super hectic, and a huge adjustment, but I somehow managed to stay a little bit social too!
I love taking a look back at each month and appreciate some of the great moments that happened, big and small. There were actually a lot of amazing things that happened last month, but a lot of that was overshadowed by the big house move. Now is a time to take a look through the month and appreciate the small but fabulous moments.
My personal Bill Cunningham (my bestie Greta!) took this cute pic on a girls night out at the start of the month. I hate having my photo taken and always go really awkward, but Greta manages to capture moments when I am a little more myself. We were having drinks at the Ivy and enjoying the view of city hall.
LANCOME DELIVERY! I am so obsessed with Lancome products, especially their skin care. I have still to unpack a LOT of my beauty products but I have been using the eye cream daily and it feels amazing on my skin. I do have sensitive eyes so some creams are too heavy for me, but this one feels fabulous. Shop the collection here.
Handbag essentials! I always have my YSL cushion foundation compact in my bag these days. This is a lightweight foundation that is really buildable. To be honest my favourite thing about it is how easy it is to carry around. I usually wear liquid foundations which can be a mess to transport. Shop foundation here.
The lipstick was a gorgeous birthday gift from my friend Naomi, it is Secret Salma from Charlotte Tilburry and it is the perfect rosie mauve shade. The thing about Charlotte Tilburry is that her products are fabulous but the packaging is second to none. Shop here.
DIED AND GONE TO LIPSTICK HEAVEN! I got to have a look at the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Vault, which has all 100 vice lipstick shades!!! Oh Santa…
Another lipstick OBSESSION was a gift from Urban Decay in the shade Conspiracy. At first glance I did not think that this shade would be for me, but it is a gorgeous bronzy brown colour, ideal for Winter. I really love it. Shop here.
The only thing better than receiving gifts, is giving them. Robes4you.ie are a go to for gorgeous and personal gifts for my whole family. This gift in particular was a hooded towel for a new-born baby with her name embroidered on the back. I have one of their luxury robes and I ADORE it, almost a year later it is still so soft and fluffy and cosy. Check out their site here.
Girls night out! I met my friend Cady for dinner and a few cocktails while our boyfriends attended a wedding.. when the cats away! While I was still living at home I took full advantage of my sister’s wardrobes and borrowed this fabulous star print body from my sister. Shop it here.
Even when I am wearing scuffed runners, I always feel dressed up when I wear my camel coat. This coat is a few years old from Missguided, and it does me so well every winter. Shop similar here.
NAKED ULTIMATE BASICS PALETTE!!! I couldn’t believe that Urban Decay gifted me this incredible palette, I feel so grateful. Although I have not had an opportunity to write-up a full review, I can tell you that the three bottom middle shades have been used pretty much daily! Shop the naked palette here.
When Christmas and Beauty collide! Did you know that The Body Shop were the first company to do a beauty advent calendar? This year they have three on offer, and they are all divine! See more here.
NEW HOME NEW CHAPTER- The day we got the keys for our new home. Of course we had prosecco ready to celebrate this new chapter. I have talked about our new home and what a HUGE DIY project it is. You can read more about it here.
I wasted no time in selecting paint. I swatched four colours from colourtrend paints (interior matte) and opted for Oyster Bed (far left) for almost everywhere in the sitting room and Wolfhound (far right) for the two alcoves either side of the fireplace.
We barely moved in and I was already packing my bags! Just when I thought my month couldn’t get any better, I was invited to visit Lusty Beg Island in Co.Fermanagh with a group of amazing bloggers/ girl bosses. Debenhams kindly gifted this gorgeous case from Tripp, shop here.
That view though. I will have a full post on our trip up soon, but for now I will tell you that it was one of the most tranquil and picturesque places I have ever visited in my life. I cannot believe this place is only 3 hours away from Dublin! Lusty Beg Island is a must see, and an incredible destination for hens/ stags/ weddings etc!
The man himself! We celebrated our new home, we enjoyed Lusty Beg together and then we celebrated his 29th birthday. I don’t usually get all soppy and sentimental on here, but I am so lucky to have Conor in my life. The past 6 years have been amazing, I cannot wait to see what adventures we have in the future.
For a little inspiration Conor and I headed to the Ideal Home show in the RDS and I fell in love with this luxury bathroom. Unfortunately our bathroom only has a shower, so I will have to book into a luxury hotel for my next bubble bath!
Adding a touch of Halloween to our sitting room. I actually adore my black sparkling skull and usually have him on display all year round, but I am not sure if Conor appreciates it as much as I do.
The thing I probably love most about our house is the open fire. I love chilling out on the couch, watching a movie and having the fire lit, it is just so cosy!
My Halloween angel! I miss my little Smokey bear so much 😦 I do get to visit him whenever I’m back at my parents but I would love to have him around 24/7! I think I might have to get a little kitten next year when the house is a bit more organised.
NO SUN REQUIRED!
I rarely embrace my pale skin but while moving house my beauty routine was thrown out the window. I was tan free, makeup free, blow-dry free and rocking oversized shirts and leggings. It felt really good to get my shit together and tan and get dressed up for Halloween. I have been using the Sun Kiss tanning mouse, and you can read my full review here.
The CREEPS! Halloween was the first time we have a group of friends over to the house, it was a housewarming/ Conor’s birthday party so I got to do one of my favourite things- DRESS UP! A key piece of my costume did not arrive in time so last-minute I decided to wear all black (shocking!) and do my makeup as a skull. I then have Conor two black eyes and a slash down his face… as you do. See all the details here.
Wow it didn’t feel like I was THAT busy throughout the month, but I am delighted with what I squeezed into those 31 days. November is already shaping up to be a crazy month as the countdown to Christmas is on.
I hope you are having an amazing month, and if you get a chance today scroll back through your pics from the last month and enjoy the memories you have made 🙂
Until next time,
My skin is in pretty bad condition from the sleepless nights and endless takeaways (we didn’t have an oven for a few weeks), so I have been relying on The Body Shop to keep me looking human. Read about my favourite masks here.
