Insta-Good September 2016

I don’t usually love September, that back to school tends to bring me down a little. Summer comes to an end and I have to start breaking out the Winter layers. It feels a bit like the Tuesday of the year, a very in between time of the year.  This September was a different story though, the weather was pretty much glorious, apart from a few rainy days, and my month was JAM PACKED!

I turned 29 on the 31st of August, and I have to say if this month was an indication of how the last year of my twenties will be, then bring it on! There was good food, great friends and a lot of laughs.

Just as I was packing for Electric Picnic I received an amazing delivery from The Body Shop. I knew my skin would be in bits after a whole weekend of camping, drinking and eating junk, and this was EXACTLY what I would need to give my skin some TLC after.

I wrote a full review on both of these super food face masks from The Body Shop which you can read here, but SPOILER ALERT: The Himalayan Charcoal Mask is an incredible dupe for the luxury Glamglow mud mask.

I prepped for Electric Picnic with two layers of Tantastic, to ensure I had a golden glow for the entire weekend. I really like this tan as it gives a great colour and moisturises the skin. Read my full review here.

Electric Picnic was AMAZING! I have already bought my ticket for 2017, because there is no way I am missing it next year. The best part of this weekend is really the people. I am really lucky to have such a fabulous group of friends to spend the festival weekend with. Read my post on the whole weekend here.

Speaking of fabulous friends, they don’t get much better than these gorgeous gals. Greta and Edel are two girls that I can rely on for good laughs.

When it is warm enough to go bare legged but your attending Christmas events! During Dublin Fashion Festival many fashion brands had previews for their upcoming collections. First stop was River Island where I fell in love with a printed suit (shop here). See more of my top picks for A/W from River Island here.

Next stop was an up close and personal look with Boohoo. I swooned over their new collection and posted my top picks here. I also treated myself to a pair of Annie block heel boots from boohoo for Winter, and I have already gotten a couple of wears out of them.

The Dublin Fashion Festival showcased young Irish designers and it was incredible to see such beautiful home grown talent. The venue was bank of Ireland at college green, which is an amazing location with stunning views of Dublin.

Benetton relaunched their Stephen’s Green store last month and I was invited in early morning to get a sneak peak at the new store and the Autumn collection. Me being me, I bypassed all the bright and beautiful colours and picked up a black roll neck knit and a black scarf.

When in town and grabbing a coffee solo, sometimes I like to treat myself to one in Balfe’s at the Westbury. It is a little pricier than most places in town, but it is always so peaceful and the setting is beautiful. I don’t visit here too often, but when I do the service is always fabulous and the coffee is delicious.

Girls night out! I was in Fade Street for drinks on a Friday night with one of the girls and of course I wore black and white… what’s new?

One of the best things about living in Dublin is how close I am to the sea. This is one of my favourite spots to visit, down the road from Killiney Hill. The view is just amazing and a quick stroll always helps clear my mind.

ALL THE MAKE UP! I had the pleasure of attending a Young Bloods Cosmetics masterclass that was hosted by the hilarious and talented Daniel Chavez. One of the stand out products for the night was a cream contour palette that you can use OVER powders!!! WHAT?!?!? YUP! See it here.

All the filters!!! My sister gave me this classic black choker and I am obsessed.

I cannot visit my friend Kellie in work without falling in love. The new DKNY collection is gorgeous, and as always incredible value for money. This is my favourite piece from the collection is this detailed cross-body.

My sisters got me this classic biker jacket for my birthday and I have been LIVING in it!!! I particulalry adore the zips and hardware details. Shop it here.

This summer I got my hands on a gorgeous orange card holder from DVF but I decided I needed a more practical colour for Winter. I fell in love with the personalised versions available from HA designs. I love this online store and have since purchased letter mugs and candles.

Lusting after one of each! I love attending the YSL masterclasses, especially when Fred Letallieur is hosting. We got to take a look at the Vinyl Lip Creme collection, where every shade looks stunning. I was lucky enough to go home with shade 404/ Nude Pulse which is a nice light pink/ nude shade and I adore it.  Shop here.

“Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway”. I attended the Lidl AW16 preview and was gifted this beautiful framed quote. Perfect timing as I am moving house this month and picking up beautiful art and prints has been at the bottom of quite a practical list.

Mirror Moment. September was the annual Rise and Repeal March and I attended with my Repeal jumper (which is almost impossible to get a hold of these days). This march is to bring awareness to the 8th amendment, and hopefully would bring about a referendum where the people of Ireland could vote for change. OOTD: Men’s oversized shirt and runners, you’d swear I was trying to disguise a pregnancy or something but no, I just adore my comforts.

Two trips to Balfe’s in one month! This time I treated myself to a green tea. Again it was a little pricey for tea (about €4.50) but it is a great spot to chill out when every other coffee shop in Dublin is absolutely packed.

As I mentioned above, I treated myself and Conor to letter mugs from HA designs for our new house. My beautiful print from Lidl is also sitting on my Helen James marble side table from Dunnes Stores. The table seems to be currently sold out online, but I found mine in Cornelscourt.

Leather and Leopard- one of my favourite combinations. Jacket is from Zara (linked above) and knit is old season ASOS. I am still wearing runners though!

I don’t have any instagram’s from the night but the 30th of September saw me off to Al Porter’s new show. This is my second time seeing him live and there were parts where I was near tears with laughter.

I hope you had a great September, and your October is even better!

Until next time,

Signature 1

In preparation for my move later this month, I have been up-cycling some old furniture my parents have kindly gifted me. See my full DIY post here.
