Zara Embroidered Dress | Two Looks

Summer is coming to an end, and I have just picked up the sweetest transitional dress from Zara. As Summer is running out, I have already found two separate opportunities to wear this gorgeous floral embroidered dress (back to back weekends!) where I can wear the dress with bare legs, and will hopefully get to wear it again with tights later in the year.

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated my mum’s birthday in the house with some of her friends and family. We all decided to get dolled up for the occasion so I wore my embroidered dress with my lace up heels, also from Zara. The details of the dress are so beautiful, that I didn’t need a lot of jewellery or accessories, as the dress really speaks for itself.

This dress is so comfortable, and ideal to wear for a dinner party and the loose shape allows me to eat as much as I want without worrying about the dress feeling tight. We had Camile cater and had plenty of cheese, cakes and snacks on top of that so I really tested this theory out, and I couldn’t have been more comfortable in this dress.

The following weekend (Saturday just gone) I was celebrating my birthday with a girly brunch and some afternoon drinks. I loved my dress so much that I wanted to wear it again, but this time slightly more casual. I always wear my leather biker jacket anyway, and this time I brought out my black ankle boots, which I have not see all Summer!

I kept my makeup kind of simple, I was still really caked, but didn’t go for a dramatic eye or lip.

I reached for a trusty Nouveau Lashes to give my eyes a fluttery look for the eyes and The Balm’s Mai Billsbepaid lipstick for a nude brown colour on my lips.

I always rely on my Urban Decay All Nighter Spray to keep everything in place when I have a long day ahead.

The day was amazing, I went to The Exchequer Wine Bar in Ranelagh for Bottomless Brunch with the girls, and then headed in to Pygmalion for a couple more drinks that evening. I had such a laugh with really good company. Bottomless brunch is great value, but I was dying the next day! I think next time I may just head home after the brunch avoid the extra couple of glasses of wine.

That is not the last time you will see this fabulous floral dress though, I do plan on packing it for Electric Picnic this weekend so you will probably see me running around Stradbally, this time with a pair of black Hunter welly boots and my green khaki parka!

Some people may think that is super cringe and the ultimate fashion faux pas to wear a statement piece 3 weeks in a row, but I am purposefully trying to embrace re-styling and and repeat wearing the same pieces, and doing so in ways that reflect my personal style.

For me I think fashion is about enjoying clothes and finding different ways to make pieces work for you with your wardrobe, different occasions and your personal style. I do not love the idea of buying a new outfit for a random Friday night and then selling it on Depop the Saturday, just so you have something new and trendy for instagram.

That being said I do have a Depop account, which you can check out here.

How do you feel about repeat wearing dresses? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time,

Signature 1
