Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able full cover foundation concentrate review.

This review is a LONG time coming! I picked up this beauty in New York back in February, and haven’t stopped banging on about it since. Don’t ask me why I am only posting about it now, I had great intentions and just didn’t around to it.

So what am I talking about? Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate of course! This is a luxury foundation, costing around €50 ( I paid $55 in dollars), and as the name suggests it offers FULL COVERAGE! I heard a lot of buzz about this product before my trip to New York so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

This is a full coverage foundation, but it is not like others I have tried. Firstly it feel super light weight on the skin. Usually this type of coverage comes with a heavy and cakey feeling, which is why I only wear full coverage for nights out rather than a daily basis.
As a girl who tends to get shiny, I love the matte finish to this foundation as it still feel breathable on my skin and not totally flat looking. (This foundation may not suit anyone with dry skin.)

Unlike every other foundation I use, I only need the tiniest drop from this to cover my entire face. It blends so beautifully (with a damp beauty blender) and does not settle in lines or pores.

This is my shade for nights out (when I have false tan on). It is a light/medium shade with pink undertones, perfect for me.

This foundation is supposed to be applied using the dot system. The end of the applicator is a round dot and two dots is enough for a light coverage, while three to four dots will give you a full coverage finish.

I am too set in my ways so I always apply it to the back of my hand and then apply it to my face using a damp beauty blender. This is a little more than I would usually apply, but I wanted to you to really be able to see what the product looked like.

Above with flash, below without.

When I want to have a flawless base and perfect coverage, I always use this foundation (see below). This foundation can disguise pretty bad break outs and totally hides my freckles (even though I don’t really mind my freckles.)

  • Full coverage
  • lightweight
  • matte finish (pro for me, con for others who have dry skin)
  • a little goes a long way
  • There are over 20 shades in the collection so finding your perfect shade is pretty easy.

  • Price, $55 is more than I usually spend on a foundation, but I have to say it has been worth it.
  • I just have an issue with non pump foundations. I understand the dot application system, but I always feel it is more hygenic to have pump bottles.
  • It is currently not available in Ireland, but is available from Harrods, Neiman Marcus and Sephora.

Final Thoughts:

I LOVE this foundation! It is so comfortable to wear and offers me amazing coverage. It tends to stay on all night but I still like to set it with Urban Decay’s All Nighter setting spray.

I hope it makes its way to our shores soon, but if you are ordering online you can consult to find your perfect shade, based on makeup you have already been matched to.

Thanks for checking out my latest beauty post, until next time,
