Taking a Break

You may have noticed that there has been very little activity here over the past month and it there are a couple of reasons for it.

Classic and Wilde is 3 years old later this month! TIME FLIES! I cannot believe it!!! However, after 3 fabulous years I do not have the same love for my blog as I did, specifically the name. When I started my blog 3 years ago I had a specific vision for what I wanted, and the name Classic and Wilde represented that perfectly. My blog did not follow the specific path I envisioned, in fact it went in more exciting and interesting directions than I could have imagined and has become a fabulous outlet for my creativity, thoughts and wishes. The name no longer means the same so I think I will take this opportunity to switch things up, with a URL and name that means a little more to me, and better represents the content I create here.

Secondly, after 3 years I have written 385 posts (including this one) and I have managed to run out of memory on WordPress. I have to upgrade anyway, so I am taking this opportunity to plan out exactly what I would the next chapter of this blog to include and represent. I am passionate about this blog, but there are times in my life when I can feel like my content fits into a very specific genre, and I want my posts to stand out and represent me, rather than fit it with what is expected from a beauty/fashion/lifestyle blog. You can still expect a lot of fabulous beauty and fashion, but I want to ensure that it is my voice present.

Finally, when I started this blog I managed to post 3 days a week, I now struggle to post twice a week. This is not for lack of content or interest or passion, but simply because I am busy. Almost two years ago I started a business with two others, and I am so lucky that it is growing and taking over more and more of my life. This blog is a passion of mine, but my business is my baby. I work with amazing brands, creating content and marketing strategies and the fact I can make a living from what I love is incredible. My blog is so important to me, but my business is my number one priority and I currently cannot commit as many hours a week to my blog. I want to take this time to plan and decide how much time I can commit to writing each week, and if that means only one post per week I will be happy once I can be consistent.

This is not goodbye…. It is ‘see you later’, I will be back soon, with lots of new content and a fresh website so watch this space! Until then I am still keeping up to date on my favourite blogs so make sure you leave me your link below so I can check yours out!

Until next time,
