The Balm Cosmetics | Makeup Review

It has been a while since I posted a makeup review, but when I received this amazing delivery from The Balm I just had to swatch them and show you all how fabulous they truly are.

I was gifted all of the items you are about to see, but I am in no way obliged to write or review them

If you are not familiar with this brand, allow me to give you brief introduction.

One of the stand out features of this brand is their fun and flirty branding. There are a lot of puns at play, and retro style illustrations.

I have been playing with:

  • Meet Matt(e) Trimony eye shadow palette
  • Mary- Lou Manizer highlighter
  • Mad Lash mascara
  • Schwing liquid liner
  • The Balm Girls lipstick in Mai Billsbepaid
  • Frat Boy Blush

This powder blush is intensely pigmented and a little goes a very long way. The texture is very creamy and easy to blend. This is a lovely pink shade with a hue of coral to it. I also adore the fact that the packaging has a mirror, because I always need tiny mirrors! Shop here.

If you follow a lot of beauty bloggers than you have probably heard people rave about this highlighter! One of my favourite YouTubers Nikki Tutorials has said she wears this product when she wants her highlight to be visible from space (watch here). This is a gorgeous honey hued colour, that gives the skin a gorgeous glow! Again this powder is very creamy and blends like a dream. Shop here.

THIS IS MY NEW FAVOURITE THING!!!! If you follow my blog you might have read my 7 tips for hooded eyes post, and read how I am matte shadow OBSESSED! These colours are totally ideal for me, with a mix of neutrals and bolder shades. My personal favourites for everyday (which I am wearing below) are Matt Evans (all over lid) Matt Lopez (blended crease) and Matt Lin for the brow bone. The colour pay off is fantastic, and again these powders are like butter and blend beautifully. This is really great palette to create simple looks and more dramatic, the colour options are fantastic.

I am wearing all the products on my face so I will discuss the remaining items here.

Schwing liner: Ok I am not great at liquid liner so it is not that sharp but I think this liner is really great. I like the matte finish and it wears really well, no smudging or flaking. The applicator is a fine tip felt, so you can get quite precise with application. Shop here.

Mad Lash: I am a mascara addict and I was really impressed with this product. The wand is curved and allows me to really get in at the root of lashes and wiggle around. This mascara is great for volume, and good for length too. The mascara stays on all day and really holds my lashes all day, and I need quite a good eye makeup remover to get off at the end of the day. Shop here.

TheBalm Girls: I have the shade Mai Billsbepaid, which is a gorgeous nude! It is a cool toned lipstick with a soft shade of pink . I am wearing it here with Spice lip liner from MAC. I love the colour on me, I also adore the fact that this lip product is conditioning. The scent is a mix between mint & vanilla, which I LOVE! Shop here.

So overall I am blown away by all the powder products in particular, they are so blendable with amazing colour pay off. I would love to hear your recommendations on what else I should try from The Balm. Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time,
