I know we are half way through January, but I am only getting around to posting about my awesome 2015. I did post an in-depth look at the 15 best moments of the year, but my year was made up of loads of little moments.
I am not a huge over-sharer on Instagram, or social media in general, but I like to capture special moments with a picture. Some of these moments are so small I almost forgot about them, which is why I enjoyed putting this post together so much.
Ok so the cheesecake was amazing, but my company was even better. I started the new year with tea and treat with my besty Greta, in our favourite spot, The Post House.
Afternoon tea is one of my favourite luxuries. And sharing it with Conor, who hadn’t indulged in afternoon tea previously, was even better.
When a dress still fits in January- I love dressing up for date night with Conor.
I love love, so I love Valentine’s day. I also love when someone treats you to something you would never buy for yourself. Conor spoiled me with Jo Malone blush suede and peonies fragrance and my favourite Laduree macaroons.
I obviously had to get a picture of Mia and I together on her special day.
Who doesn’t love getting dressed up in a gown? I loved wearing this red gown and treating myself to having my makeup done professionally. It is like the ultimate date night as Conor and I enjoy dinner, drinks and dancing while looking particularly dapper.
A huge highlight for most Irish people’s year, had to be voting YES to marriage equality. We are the first country to pass same-sex marriage through public referendum and it was a really proud moment for us as a nation.
I attended my first blog awards this year, as I was actually shortlisted to win ‘Best Fashion Blog’. Conor was my date and came to support me at the Irish Beauty Blog awards, and we had a fabulous night, even though I didn’t win. The fabulous Pippa did, but I was thrilled to be included in this category with so many amazing bloggers.
I tried to say YES to more in 2015, so I ended up dealing with a slight hangover on a Sunday at the Aviva stadium watching Ireland play England in football, not my usual scene. It was my first time seeing an Ireland football match and I did enjoy it, but I don’t know if I would be eager to go again too soon.
One of the best parts of my year was heading to Puerto Rico with Conor for 10 days and totally chilling out. I hope this year to travel a little more with Conor.
I attended my first Irish Blog Association meet up last Summer with my friend Kellie (let them have fashion) and we met Amanda and Doireann (Blog Beauties). Since that evening the four of us have become great friends and I am looking forward to lots more drinks and chats with them in 2016.
I don’t win awards EVER- well not since sports day primary when everyone got a medal. To receive an award from the FAI for our business (The Link Marketing) was an incredible moment for the three of us this year.
I am not a huge fan of my birthday, but this year was amazing thanks to great food (soder & ko) and better friends.
The best way to end the Summer is with a weekend of music, friends and a drink or two. I love Electric Picnic.
WE ARE SO BADASS! To celebrate my Dad’s 60th our entire family went clay pigeon shooting and we were so good at it. This is something I always wanted to do, and I loved going with my family. You can find out more from our day of shooting here.
Not all, but many of my friday nights were spent watching football matches, because Conor was playing for Cabinteely LOI. It is certainly not my favourite thing to do, but I was so happy to watch him live out a life long dream.
I don’t get to see my god-daughter that often, so when I do it is a picture worthy moment. We were celebrating Mia’s first birthday here.
One of the coolest Christmas presents EVER! ASOS have immortalised me with my own magazine cover.
I have never felt more VIP than when I opened up a surprise package from Robes4you.ie! Inside was the most luxurious and fluffy-as-a-cloud robe with my blog’s name on the back and my name on the front. As someone who LIVES in her dressing gown, this was the best gift I could ever receive! For more information on Robes4you.ie click here.
Our company toasted to a brilliant year with bubbles and steak, my favourite combination! This dinner was amazing and you can read about it here.
I have joined Conor’s family for a traditional Christmas eve breakfast for a couple of years now, and it is something I really look forward to. This year we dined in Carluccio’s and I enjoyed a gorgeous serving of Eggs Benedict.
I am obsessed with my new Nike Roshe, but what I really love is that Conor got them for me without any guidance or hints. This is the first time in about five years that he’s bought me a gift without working off a list or asking my sisters or friends for guidance. I was so impressed that he got my style 100% right.
I think this will be my last 2015 post… but I can’t make any promises. January is such a BLAH month that I don’t have outfits to post or nights to write about because I am staying in, wearing sloppy layers and watching Netflix, (which is me living my dream BTW, I am in no mood to get dressed up and be sociable)!
Until next time,
