Web awards 2015

Last week I attended the Web Awards at the RDS as a website our company designed was a finalist for best Sports website. There are tonnes of different digital and website awards that take place throughout the year, and this is probably the most relaxed. There is no dress code, there is no big dinner and there aren’t long acceptance speeches. I do love an occasion to get totally dolled up and wear a gown, but I was happy that on this evening I had freedom to wear anything I wanted.

It was our first time attending these awards and they were not like most other events I have been to. The Web Awards are much more relaxed and there is no air of pretension in that room. Everyone is there to have a good time and talk about their favourite websites from 2015.

If you want to check out the website we were nominated for you can here: Cabinteely LOI by The Link Marketing.

Unfortunately we didn’t win, but we weren’t expecting to either. It was a great experience for us, and a really good opportunity to see what else is happening in terms of Irish agencies and online companies.

To be totally honest, for this website in particular I had little to do with the design or content, that was 99% Dill (pictured below).

You can see on my chin I am still suffering the effects from putting Coconut oil on my face. You can read more about this here in my skincare routine update.

To cover up my breakout I used Inglot HD foundation, which always works wonderfully. The rest of my face is made up of:

What I wore- for once a little bit of colour- how crazy!

The crop top is my sisters and it is from Zara / shop here / similar here.
The midi skirt is very old Zara / similar here.
Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120mm / similar here.

This entire look was a little out of my comfort zone, but I actually loved wearing it (apart from the shoes, they KILLED). I can’t remember the last time I wore a fitted pencil skirt, because I am always way too aware of my stomach and I hate anything too fitted. I don’t have abs, to say the least, so I would never buy a crop top, luckily my skinny little sister did, and the length sat perfectly along the high waisted skirt.
As tempted as I am to only buy black and white ALL THE TIME, wearing this top has really encouraged me to introduce more colours to my wardrobe and I even purchased a burgundy skirt this weekend. Watch this space…

Until next time,

Signature 1

This season I will be adding a little more colour in my wardrobe in shades of camel and burgundy. See my full wish list here.
