It is October, which means I can finally start talking about Halloween without annoying everyone! This is my favourite day of the year, so I am pretty much thinking of costumes all year round.
I am not a makeup artist so I don’t usually post costumes that are not easy enough to create yourself from home. I personally do not like store-bought costumes for adults, I did wear one once and I really didn’t like it, it was made of such cheap material and looked ridiculous. I love to create costumes from clothes I already have in my wardrobe, or clothes I can wear again. This is one of the easiest costumes to put together, it is of course Mia Wallace.
Pulp Fiction is one of my favourite movies, and Mia Wallace is one of the most memorable characters, especially with her overdose scene.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet, GO WATCH IT NOW! This post will contain a lot spoilers so don’t scroll! If you have already seen it than you know all about ‘THAT SCENE’. After watching the movie tens of time, I still can’t watch the needle part without squealing.
The costume itself is pretty simple:
- a white shirt
- black trousers
- a black bob, a wig.
I have all the items you could need to purchase at the very end of the post, so scroll down!
So without doing anything else you are already Mia Wallace, you don’t have to take it to the next level.
If you do want to keep on theme than I suggest learning a couple of these dance moves- not too difficult.
If you want to go down the overdose route, you will need a little bit of blood. Here is a little reminder of how Mia ended up in that state:
Mia snorts heroine she found in Vince’s jacket thinking it was Cocaine. He drives her to his dealer’s house where they stab her in the chest with a huge needle filled with adrenaline which snaps her back to life.
If you can fashion a big tube that looks like a needle and attach it to your chest, that would be amazing! If not, a bleeding nose and some blood splatter on your white shirt will still look awesome. Pile on the blood at the nostril and let it trickle down, as if it were a real nose bleed. Splatter a little blood around the top of your white shirt (probably shouldn’t your favourite white shirt) and rough up your bob a little with. Let your mascara and eyeliner run a little bit too.
This is the first of many DIY Halloween posts coming this month, but if you have any looks you would like me to write about, please let me know in the comments below!
Until next time
