On Monday I was delighted to attend the launch of the River Island design forum Zoe Jordan collection. I am a huge fan of Zoe Jordan’s collections, however they are not quite within in my price range, so having the opportunity to buy into her brand at a River Island price point is very exciting. You can learn more about Zoe here, and see her collection here.
I had seen some of the pieces in advance, as Anouska had posted a couple of looks and they all looked really versatile and wearable. Although many of the pieces had a statement element to them, they are all wardrobe staples, and will last season after season.
I have such a style crush on Zoe, and she came across as a very cool girl. She designs for the woman who may not want to put on that little black dress, and as someone who lives in pants, I really love that.
It was very cool to hear Zoe speak about the collection, giving an insight on how the collaboration came about, how it was a year in the making, and how she wanted to give the River Island customer classic Zoe Jordan pieces at a great price. The quality has not been compromised, and the smoke on the water prints were chosen as a design that will last over multiple season, rather than being an AW15 trend. All of the pieces were also designed with the idea that they can be worn with heels or flats, dressed up or down, these pieces are chic and effortless. Zoe certainly brought her signature style of comfort and style to this collection, with soft silhouettes and relaxed tailoring.
You can see more of the collection at work here in this Hunger games inspired video.
I attended the evening with my friend Amanda from Blog Beauties, and we had a great laugh. We both chose similar items from the collection as our favourite pieces and both fell in love with the cargo pants below. We also got a chance to catch up with my favourite blogger of all time, Anouska. If you don’t already follow her blog, you should check it out. I posted about her a few months ago when listing my favourite instagrammers of 2015.
Now to get to the important part: The fashion.
These are the cargo pants mentioned above: the print and shape are both effortlessly cool. Shop here.
I love the cut out detail of this jumper and would love to dress it up with a pair of skinny leather trousers and heels. Obviously it would look very chic with a pair of jeans and boots for winter. Shop here.
I have this thing for textures, and this faux fur bolero is so sweet for Winter. Worn alone, or over another jacket, this is an amazing piece for Winter. Shop here.
I have not been able to get this dress off my mind since first laying eyes on it. The structure of the dress is beautiful, and would be flattering on any body shape as it emphases the waist. The croc effect leather adds another element of cool. Shop here.
This is the showstopper piece: Real leather tabs attached all over. Leather is the new sequins! I am obsessed, but my bank account is having none of it! I think it is incredible value for what it is, the design and construction of the piece is amazing, but it is still out of my price range at the moment. Shop here.
So that is my edit of the collection, my personal favourites, but you can shop the full collection here, or what is left of it.
We were kindly given gift bags from the event, with a tote bag that features the smoke on the water prints, and it was packed with some fabulous goodies I will be reviewing soon.
Have you shopped any of the collection yet? Let me know in the comments below.
Until next time,
