A year older, but not necessarily wiser. My birthday fell on a Monday this year, so I decided to celebrate on Saturday with a gorgeous dinner in Soder + Ko, drinks in the Market bar and the night continued onto The Black Door until the wee hours. I was surrounded by people I love and I laughed for the whole night.
I decided to treat myself to a makeover from Michelle Montgomery, who is the QUEEN of makeup! I have visited Michelle a couple of times, two of which you can see here (for a wedding) and here (for a ball). Michelle has her own studio based in Dundrum on the main street, and I would genuinely recommend her to absolutely everyone as she is incredible at what she does. She is also a really nice and fun girl so I love spending an hour with. If you would like to book in with Michelle you can do so on her Facebook page here.
I had a little fashion disaster as I bought the most beautiful dress from Lavish Alice on ASOS, and unfortunately is just didn’t suit my figure. The dress is genuinely gorgeous, but I really didn’t look good on my shape so I was totally panicked during the week to find something new and fabulous to wear. Luckily on my lunch break on Thursday I strolled into the Soho Market in Stephens green and found this white lace dress.
What I wore:
The food at Soder + Ko is unbelievable! It is Asian tapas, and everything is incredibly flavourful and I thought it was great value. The venue is gorgeous and I had intended on staying the entire evening as their outdoor terrace is really comfortable, however it was so busy we could not get a table. We decided to move off to the Market bar for drinks after dinner and to meet a few more people. The night continued in the Black Door and ended at the burger van at the corner of Harcourt Street.
I wish I had more pictures from the night, but I was simply having too much fun and taking pictures was not on the forefront of my mind. I do love this picture of myself and Greta, who is my favourite girl in the world, someone I couldn’t celebrate my birthday without.
I love this picture Greta took of me at the beginning of the night, I think I will have to keep her around to play photographer for the rest of my life, also, she is just an amazing person so I will be keeping her anyway!
I had such an amazing birthday, and I felt seriously loved by my family and friends. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, and a huge thank you to my amazing boyfriend Conor who totally spoiled me with so much love!
Until next time,
