Are we really half way through July? WTF?! I need a pause button for life. The Summer so far has been amazing, I have been away on holidays and had a couple of fun nights with friends which involved more than one or two.
So my month got off to a crappy start when I needed to get one of my upper wisdom teeth pulled. I have a huge fear of dentist (unique, right?!!) so I had avoided getting my wisdom teeth pulled for so long, but then one chipped and I had to get it out. I am actually heading back later this month to have the second upper one pulled so expect a pity party to take place over on my snapchat (ginakiely) and instagram (ginakiely_).
I will say that it was not half as bad as I expected and I really didn’t feel a thing, but that is not to say I am looking forward to the next trip.
When I attended the Irish Beauty Blog awards in August, my goodie bag was packed with amazing treats, one of which was a tester of GlamGlow, which I had been dying to try for so long! I can finally say that this mask totally lives up to the hype. I loved how hydrated and smooth my skin felt after this treatment, and I really want to invest in a tub now. You can buy Glamglow here.
This was a very fun/ random day, but thank you to a client from my business, we were gifted tickets to watch the Republic of Ireland vs England football in the Aviva. I had actually never been to an Ireland game before so that was really cool, although the match itself was not the most exciting, the final score was 0-0.
I was ever so slightly hungover when watching the match, as I was out the night before celebrating my bestie’s Greta’s birthday, which you can read all about here.
One of my favourite looks to wear when working. On this day in particular we had a large event with a client so I kept it comfortable in flats (River Island), and stuck with my all black uniform. Trousers -Zara, Top- H&M, Leather jacket- New Look.
I have been lusting after the MAC Warm Neutrals pallets for months and it is finally mine. I actually haven’t touched any of my other palettes since getting it, and I honestly think this could be all I need. The palette itself is incredible value at €75, and you can buy it here.
I was away in Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria in June and I have a couple of posts about it. My fashion post can be read here, which features all of my style looks from the 10 day trip.
The view from my apartment was fabulous, we had a sea view and were also located above the pool.
This was the view of the sea from our resort, so much blue! I couldn’t have been stressed if I wanted to in these surroundings. You can see more from my trip here.
Conor and I do so much together, including working out and actual work, so to spend 10 days together doing NOTHING was such a treat.
When I am at home I usually stick to a black and white colour palette, but when I am away pretty much all colour is welcome. I particularly loved this aztec skirt from Zara, which you can find here.
This black dress from Topshop is one of my all time favourite dresses now. It is really comfortable to wear and the shape is really flattering (when it is belted). You can find this dress here.
It may have been a little gloomy and cloudy in Dublin as we were flying home, but I was still really happy to get back. There is no place like home, and no place like your own bed!
Back to work, and an 8am meeting with a couple of clients has a way of snapping you back into work mode. Luckily coffee was there to save the day.
When the mirror is that big, and the tiles are that chic, you know I am taking a selfie. Didn’t hurt that I was wearing my bright yellow zara jacket, one of my all time favourite pieces.
I wanted to get as much from my tan as possible (even if it was helped with a little He-Shi) and Dublin enjoyed some really beautiful days after my holiday. Hopefully there are more sunny days to come over the next month or two. I am really lucky that when I work from home, and I don’t have any meetings, I can wear whatever I want, including cut offs.
My usual makeup look in the Summer on hot days. I like to keep things as simple as possible to avoid the melted look when the sun is out.
Have you ever searched the hashtag #IHaveThisThingWithFloors? It is one of my favourite things to follow on Instagram and when I had the opportunity to contribute when visiting the Smurfit campus in Blackrock.
So that was my June, and I really can’t complain. It has been a pretty good mix of work and play, and plenty of cocktails. I hope you are having a great Summer 2015, and thank you for reading my latest post!
