Boldly Bare Lip Pencil Review | MAC Cosmetics

Everyone has gone WILD for MAC lip pencils, more so than before, thanks to Kylie Jenner and her overlined lips. Obviously the world is still in great debate as to whether or not she has had help from more than her makeup, but I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and try for fuller lips with just a lip pencil.

Below are my efforts, not totally Kylie Jenner level of expertise, but my lips look fuller. Close up I think it is pretty clear where my lips end and where my skin begins, but tricks like these can take time.

MAC Cosmetics Boldly Bare lip pencil

With guidance from a makeup artist at MAC, I chose Boldly Bare, which delivers a beautiful pink nude colour. I had different shades drawn across my hand which all looked great, but the Boldly Bare came across as quite flattering for my Irish skin tone. The colour is almost the same as my natural lip, but accentuated slightly.

I really have been sporting this look a lot, and it looks more natural when the picture is not as up close!

I have to admit I love the look I achieve from using lip pencil all over my lips. It is not as high maintenance as a lipstick or gloss, however it can be quite drying. I keep a EOS lip balm with me to prevent my lips from getting too dry or cracked.

You can buy Boldly Bare here.

I treated myself to a new foundation at Inglot that day, and I will have a review post of that coming soon!

Who else has been trying out the lip pencil look? What is your favourite colour?
