Instagood January 2015

I know the entire world has the January blues, and the severly cold weather, mixed with diets is really stressing out the whole world. However, I am going to be really annoying and say I had a great January! Don’t get me wrong, I totally miss the sun, but I feel like I achieved a lot over the space of a month and I am really happy with how my year started in work.

January 1st diet starts… not here! How could I go for tea with my best friend in our favourite spot (The Port House) and not have the ferror rocher cheesecake?! It tastes even better than it looks! #NoRegrets

To burn off those Christmas calories, Conor and I increased our visits to Killiney Hill. Unfortunately this has been one of those New Years Resolutions that hasn’t quite stuck, but I am going to blame the short days and freezing weather.

Back to work: I started my year with a plan and goals, and I am happy to say that I am on track to achieving a couple already. My leopard planner from Zara is always with me, and I am obsessed with the pony skin feel.

New post on blog! I took a small break from blogging over Christmas. It was the first time I ever took a break from my blog and it was the best thing I have ever done. I have never been so inspired and excited to write. You can see the full post from this look here.

My social life was non existent this month, as I was attempting a dry January, which gave me time to help get my mum ready for her night out.  I actually love doing her makeup, but I am not a makeup artist so she knows not to expect too much from me. Ha!

You can see all of my favourite products here.

This makeup look was my look for January. I had not worn this lipstick in months and I became obsessed with it once again. You can see the full list of products that I used here.

Just my luck: I went to Dundrum to find a bargain in the sales and I buy a pair of full price jeans. To be fair, the Dr Denim jeans are incredible value at €5o in BT2.

The best brunch of the year so far, for a couple of reasons. The food at The Greenery is amazing, along with the green juices. I was there with one of my best friends who had just gotten engaged, and she asked me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding! I obviously said YES, and we have already been dress shopping for the big day in 2016!

I am trying to up my greens intake, and smoothies are a great way to do that. My usual smoothy will include: Spinach, Banana, Strawberries, Blueberries, Coconut milk, Orange juice, Chia seeds and Flax seeds. This varies slightly depending on what’s available to me, but that is pretty standard way for me to start my day lately.

I was having a little mirror moment here. I am obviously obsessed with black and white and could not resist a sneaky selfie.

iPhone selfie: I was struggling to find a pretty case for my new phone and I came across this gold foil one on ebay. Find it here.

From where I stand. This month has been mostly casual so all of my posts have featured knits and coats. See the full outfit and details here.

You can really tell its January by the amount of green food I have been consuming. The first picture is from a trip to Alchemy in BT2 on Grafton street, where I overdosed on Kale. The second image is from my work desk after I picked up supplies from M&S.

It is most likely that January didn’t feel too bad for me as I got a mini break half way through. Conor and I headed to Seafield for a weekend (post coming soon). From where I sit; I wore my New Look ankle boots and Dr Denim skinny jeans, with my Louis Vuitton handbag and Custom Vintage Pom.

While staying in Seafield, Conor and I enjoyed the most beautiful afternoon tea. This was such a lovely treat, and Conor’s first time having afternoon tea ever.

Anyone who has been to Seafield will tell you that the outdoor hot tub can not be missed. The Oceo spa at Seafield is nationally and internationally recognised as one of the best facilities in the world, and their hot outdoor pool is incredible. This is my favourite bikini from H&M last year, but I found a similar one here.

This was our view from the room in Seafield, absolutely perfect.

Thursday treat! Sometimes I need a pick me up at work, and these pearl swing earrings from Zara were the exact thing to do the job. Simple and delicate while still catching the eye with their unusual design, I have not taken them off!

I am still waiting for a proper snow day, but walking home with this beautiful while dusting make my journey a little prettier.

My boyfriend knows how to make me smile, he found a chocolate hazelnut butter in UN Sports Nutrition and gave it to me to use as a ‘clean treat’. This is like Nutella but without the sugar or additives. Obviously Nutella is the most amazing treat in the world, but this is similar without being as sweet. I have been spreading it on brown bread when I get cravings for chocolate and sweets. Find it here.

This was a not-so-clean treat, of a beautiful scone and tea in Bewleys on Grafton street. I was performing my bridesmaid duties, with my friend Siobhan (bride to be) and Jane (fellow bridesmaid) and we enjoyed a tea break between dress shopping.

Now that January is behind us I am dying to break out my levis cut offs, but I think we are still a few months away from sunny days and high temperatures.

Thank you for reading,
