It is that time of the year again, Valentines day is coming and there is no hiding from the red roses, boxes of chocolates and oversized teddy bears. Don’t get me wrong, I love romance, I just don’t need an oversized bear in my life, and chocolates are the last thing on my mind as I am trying to eat right.
I don’t really make a big deal out of valentines day, but Conor and I didn’t do a big Christmas this year, so we are doing a bigger than usual Valentines Day. Depending on your budget, I have selected a handful of items starting at only €20, going right up €300, so there is something here for every budget.
The first item on my list is an initial G for a pendant from Thomas Sabo. I am not someone who loves heart-shaped jewellery, which is unavoidable around February. I would much prefer something cool that I can wear all year around, like this G necklace. I loved personalised jewellery as do so many fashion bloggers I follow, along with celebrities such as Cara Delevingne.
Next up, a luxury fragrance. Jo Malone is infamous for their amazing scent, and I have chosen the English Pear and Freesia cologne, as I already have the soap and the candle. You could spent hours going through each of their fragrances, they are unique and beautiful and completely worth the investment when you find one that suits your personality.
As much as I hope that I receive a Chanel bag for Valentines day, realistically it is not happening. The closest I can hope for is a beautiful bag like this Rebecca Minkoff quilted bag that is reminiscent of the Chanel Boy bag, but a fraction of the price. At €300 this bag is still a big purchase, and I personally love the pink colour, although it is also available in practical black!
Even though a Chanel bag may be a little much for Valentines Day, a little piece of Chanel is always nice. I love the Chanel nail polishes and think you cannot go wrong with a classic red. Chanel usually set the seasonal trends when it comes to nail colours and always have a large variety of shades. This gift is perfect for the beauty lover who appreciates luxury brands.
Who does not love lingerie?! Agent Provocateur is king when it comes to sexy and beautiful undergarments, but the prices can be outrageous! fortunately they have a more affordable line by the name of L’Agent by Agent Provocateur, which is where I found this beautiful white lace and tulle chemise. This is just one piece out of a large collection which the price point starts at only €30.
For the sentimental side of me, I love to surround myself with pictures, but I find it difficult to allow myself to buy expensive frames. If someone were to treat me to a Kate Spade frame, that would be a different story. This is an ideal gift for anyone who loves accessorizing their home, and who love to take and share pictures.
Kate Spade just gets me! These emerald and diamond inspired chandelier earrings are the perfect gift for any lady who loves glamour. These earrings are a nod to the 20s while still looking modern and cool. Perfect to wear on date night, especially valentines day.
For the über cool gal, which we all have inside of us, a pair of oversized clubmaster sunglasses from Ray Ban. Usually this style does not suit my face, but the oversized version suits me perfectly, and makes me feel very cool. My sister Tara owns this exact pair, and my sister Ria has them in the orange lenses, and COOL really is the only word that can describe exactly how they look.
And finally, Diamonds are a girls best friend! This minimalistic diamond ring from Monica Vinader is the perfect gift, just make sure it is not confused for an engagement ring! Again, this style is very cool, I love the shape and the mix of metals with rose gold and silver. The ring features .44 carat of diamonds to add a touch of glamour. This is certainly a piece I could wear daily, and feel instantly cooler every time I put it on. Don’t be put off by the diamonds, the price is actually quite reasonable at €205.
