HAPPY NEW YEAR! Yes I know I am two weeks behind, but I have been catching up on my Christmas posts, so this is my first chance to post about my New Years.
I actually don’t like New Years at all, when possible I like to get away from Dublin and go somewhere a little different, but this year that was not an option.
This year Conor decided to have drinks in his house before hand, and then we headed to Dalkey with friends to ring in the new year. The drinks before hand were very fun and relaxing, we had the fire lit and a lot of drink and snacks. Conor even lit the fire pit in the garden so that the smokers would be warm.
Heading to Dalkey was a great idea, we avoided the huge lines of town and we were actually able to get a table in the bar to sit down, and could get a drink at the bar with ease. I feel too old to go to clubs on New Years now and wait in line for hours, and then wait some more just to get a drink, and then be in a crowded bar with no personal space.
As we were heading to Dalkey I couldn’t really get all that dressed up, I had planned on wearing a dress, but I would have been the only person in the village dressed up that much. I dusted off a gold sequin jacket and my trusty leather pants. I had not worn this jacket since Conor’s birthday in Vegas over a year ago, see the post here.
What I Wore:
- Penneys Gold Sequin Blazer // Similar here
- River Island Black Camisole // Shop here
- Zara Leather Leggings // Similar here
- Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120 // Similar here
I kept the focus of my makeup on my eyes, with a dark brown and gold smokey eye and a nude lip.
I started my night with a glass of prosecco and enjoyed a glass in the garden by the fire pit.
How did you spend your NYE this year? I hope next year I get to go away, I have spent the last two years in Dublin on New Years and need to get away next year!
Thank you for reading,
