As I mentioned in my last post, I took a small break from blogging over Christmas as I had a lot going on and I really wanted a little rest and relaxation. So now it is January, I am back to work and back to blogging. Here is a look back on Christmas and all of the beautiful gifts I received.
Every Christmas we starts the same in our house; Christmas eve means new PJs, it is a tradition that we never grew out of, and one I always look forward to!
Waking up Christmas morning, in my new PJs, I went to the sitting room with my family where we all swapped gifts.
I broke my gifts up into three groups, to make easier to go through. This group is mainly black and white, my favourite colour combo.
First up is a pair of over the knee boots from Jessica Buurman. These were not a surprise, but unfortunately they were a little bit of a disappointment. They looked so much better on the website, the quality and the shape, and on their instagram account they shared a picture of the boots which looked amazing, but after some investigation it was actually a pair of Phillip Lim boots that they shared. My mum paid for express shipping which should have taken 1-2 weeks and they actually took a month! I did want to send them back, but as I would be shipping them across the world, I would lose half of the refund of shipping. I am sure I will get wear out of them, but I will be keeping my eye out for another pair of boots in the sales. Safe to say I will not be shopping from that website again.
I know it sounds so bratty to complain about gifts, but I did want to give anyone a heads up who was considering buying from the site.
You cannot see it in this picture, but the black and white print onesie also had a ears and a white mullet! My sisters bought this for me from Hollister, and it is so amazingly cosy, I love it. I have had several PJ days over the Christmas break and this onesie has been so snug to wear. Shop here.
Next I have the sweetest smelling gift, which was from Conor’s parents, a Jo Malone candle! The scent is English pears and Freesia, which is one of my favourites! I already have a soap in this scent, and coincidentally my sister received the matching fragrance. Shop here.
Faux fur pom was a stocking filler, bought on Custom Vintage Dublin. It is so cute and soft, I currently have it on my Louis Vuitton bag. These are poms are so incredibly soft that some people have thought they were real fur! Shop here.
The giant shopper is from Zara, and this was a very practical gift from Santa as he knew my work bag was on its last legs. I need something big and sturdy for carrying around my laptop and this bag is perfect. It is also reversible so I can switch it to a red bag when I am feeling a little brighter. Shop here.
Finally from my black and white pieces, an oversized cricket style jumper from H&M. I probably could have gotten away with the xs size, but I went for the medium which is big and baggy. Shop here.
Next up is my burgundy group of gifts.
A flippy burgundy mini skirt from Zara, which is ideal for wearing with boots in Winter. Shop here.
A mini charm lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury, my mum put one in each of our stockings and the colour I got was a classic red called So Marilyn. Shop here.
Santa knows how much I adore Ferrero Rocher and left this box in my stocking!
Mum found the softest scarfs in the world and co-incidentally mine is burgundy and grey, so it goes with all of my new pieces!
The waxed burgundy jeans were a gift from my sisters from Massimo Dutti, I spotted them on a day shopping and mentioned how I had been searching for a pair just like that! Shop here.
A couple of stocking fillers: Mum always buys me a book, but I have yet to crack this one open! (New Years resolution; Read more books!)
I have also yet to try my new benefit mini skin care routine. I have a couple of mini trips coming up and they are the perfect travel size products. Shop here.
A cute mini hand warmer which I am sure I will get plenty of use out of over the next couple of freezing months.
Finally my mum picked out this beautiful coral nail polish which is a gel polish from Sally Hansen which needs no lamp. Shop here.
Conor ordered me these boots, after I dropped a hint or two. I love the pointed toe, as it dresses up the shoes a little more, although they are seriously dress with the embellished heels covered in beads and sequins. Shop here.
I am wearing So Marilyn lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury.
Here I am wearing my burgundy waxed jeans and my faux fur pom on my bag.
My beautiful candle from Conor’s family, one of the nicest scents in the world.
So that is a round-up of most of my gifts from Christmas this year. Obviously it is not all about gifts, and I do have an upcoming post on what I gave this year. Christmas day was spent with my fabulous family and some friends, involved movies, board games, wine and plenty of food.
I hope you had a fabulous Christmas!
