October seemed like the month that brought us from Summer to Winter! It suddenly got very cold and we went from bright and sunny days to dark and cold long nights.
I kicked off the month with an extra layer and found this really cool cape/ blanket in TK Maxx. Obviously capes and blankets are HUGE this season and I am a big fan! I wear this (plus one more I picked up) over jackets, around the house, as a scarf, belted, loose… the list goes on! You can see more of my cape here, plus shop some of my favourites!
It took me ages to get around to it but eventually got around to cracking open #GIRLBOSS. I loved this book, very inspirational with really relatable lessons and advice from the original GIRLBOSS, Sophia Amoruso. I loved the book, but I also love the idea and movement behind it, empowering women to be bosses in their own lives.
House in Dublin is one of my favourite places at the moment, it always has a great atmosphere, amazing cocktails and drinks, and their garden area is gorgeous. I had a fantastic girls night there last month, which you can read all about here.
I am pretty sure this view is included in all of my Instagram round ups, when I am working during the week this spot is where we go to take a break and brainstorm. How could you not get inspired by that view?
Something else that is included in almost every instagram round up is: MACROONS!!! Whenever Conor’s parents go away, they always bring me back the sweetest treats! YUM!
HALLOWEEN is my favourite time of the year and I went totally overboard when shopping for decorations in Dealz! Luckily for me, everything costs €1.49, so going overboard is still below €20!!! These were two of my favourite decorations I purchased but there were many, many more!
To get into the creepy Halloween mood, I painted my nails with matte black polish from Ciate, shop here.
When living in Vegas I was so far away from the sea, now I take every opportunity to to appreciate the seaside, even when it is FREEZING outside!
This little ninja is now officially a Kiely! We have been fostering him since the beginning of August and we were able to adopt him on the 21st of October. If you are considering getting a cat or a dog than I would 100% recommend adopting from places like the DSPCA. Alternatively you can foster pets if you are an animal lover but cannot commit to keeping one permanently.
Jameson know how to show a movie! This month I was invited to a special screening of Friday the 13th part two, where the screening location was transformed and it included a hell of a lot of Jameson! You can read all about it here.
The 25th of October is Conor’s birthday! I love to make a fuss for birthdays, but his mum was the one who provided the adorable football cake!
I love playing dress up, sometimes it’s pretty, but when Halloween is coming, its gets a little gross! You can see how I created this look here.
Conor knows me far too well, and knew that after spending the weekend in London for his brother’s stag I would be looking for a souvenir! I could not have asked for a better present than Krispy Kreme doughnuts, seriously my favourite treat of all time! I am totally craving these as I type this, why are they not in Ireland??
One of the amazing businesses I work with is ESL Jewellers, which means every now and again my job includes trying on some amazing jewellery. This time it was a custom solitaire ring which showcased a 2ct diamond, which fit me like a glove. I really did not want to take it off!!!!
Who doesn’t love a mani-pedi? I visited Tropical Popical last week for two fabulous treatments and you can read all about them here.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! I had a last minute costume change from a cat to a vampire but I loved my costume in the end. Conor isn’t all that into Halloween but he lets me dress him up, so this year he was a Zombie and was covered in blood and bruises. You can see all of the details from our costumes here.
So that was my October, how was yours?
Thank you for reading,
