This year is the first year in FOREVER that I have not bought a new dress for my birthday! As I will be celebrating my birthday this year in Electric Picnic, I will most likely be wearing my Hunter boots, Denim shorts and a rain coat… not so glam.
I have decided to browse around for a pretty birthday dress, just incase I decided to have a night out in town the following week.
I love a good white dress! This dress ticks so many boxes for me: White is so Summery and fresh and my birthday is the 31st of August which is the end of Summer really. The length is perfect, I feel a little old to wear dresses that just cover my bum, so this length that hits above the knee is great. The illusion design is also really flattering and gives the idea that your waist is smaller and your curves are slightly more exagerated.
I recently discovered Esther, which is an Australian online store, but I have yet to order anything from them. They have some amazing dresses but this one in particular is a favourite of mine. I imagine that the draping at the front is really flattering and the lace gives it such a lady like quality, while still being a fun party dress. I also love this colour blue, I think it is flattering for most people.
If you can’t dress like a sparkly mermaid on your birthday, when can you? I don’t usually go for strapless dresses but I am just loving these colours! I also appreciate the black band which accentuates the waist.
I love a good sequin dress 🙂
I love a good print, and this neutral coloured snake print dress is no exeption. Obviously it is a litlle out there with the print, but remember we are talking about birthday dresses! This dress is a midi length which is very elegant and lady like, and this balances out the print and low cut top.
I am such a fan of details, and I can imagine myself wearing this dress and twirling for a majority of the night. I have owned a couple of feather embellished pieces over the years, and I think they are always fun and girly. I also like the mix of textures as in Winter I can get into a Black rut, and adding the feathers livens it up a little, even if theyre black too.
Link me to any party dresses you have been wearing, I need more inspiration 😉
