As I mentioned in my post on Monday, I was very lucky to receive a goody bag from Cocoa Brown recently which contained Tough Stuff, Chocolate Whip and of course, One hour tan. Obviously I was delighted as I am a tanning addict, and had yet to actually try the Chocoalte Whip moisturiser.
As the name suggests, this is a chocolatey body moisturiser which smells delicious, and actually looks like a chocolatey/ caramel treat. This product is oil free which means it is not greasy and according to Marissa Carter (founder of Cocoa Brown) an oil based product would disrupt the Cocoa Brown water based mouse; remember Oil & Water do not mix! This moisturiser also contains Vitamin E which nourishes and strengthens your skin while also improving stretch marks and age spots. Using Chocolate Whip with your tan allows it to fade naturally and helps prolong its life span. The moisturiser also dries really quickly so there isn’t too much hanging around waiting to get dressed.
It is a great idea to use Chocolate whip after a shower and before tanning. I like to allow my moisturiser to fully absorb before apply Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan, usually about 12 hours, as a moisturiser will provide a barrier between the tan and skin and could prevent it from developing effectively.
SO…. we have established that it smells really good, looks good and claims to do good, BUT does it live up to the hype? I mean a moisturiser that costs €5.99, can it really be that good for the skin? WELL, I have my personal test in the form of red dry skin on the top of my arm. I have had dry skin on this area of my arm for a couple of years now and it becomes worse with warm showers, and more noticeable when I am wearing tan. Cheap moisturisers don’t do all that much for it, but I couldn’t believe how effective Chocolate Whip was on this area of skin.
I tried to demonstrate as best as possible in the pictures below, before and after. As you can see in the after picture, my dry skin patches were almost gone completely, BIG IMPROVEMENT. This was over the space of about 3 days so I was very impressed with how quickly my skin reacted to the moisturiser.
Not only was my dry skin improved, but all over I had silky-soft skin. My tan lasted a lot longer than usual, and wore very evenly. In fact, I didn’t need to use my Tough Stuff as much as before, due to the fact that my tan was even for days. Overall I was very impressed with this product and recommend it to all tanners and non tanners alike. There is also the added bonus of the price: €5.99 AND the fact that it is supporting an Irish business.
What are your thoughts on Cocoa Brown’s Chocolate Whip moisturiser?
