The last time Target did an affordable designer collection (Philip Lim), I was living in Las Vegas and was ecstatic to shop the pieces, unfortunately I am back in Ireland and there are no Targets or international shipping for the Peter Pilotto collaboration…… Thankfully there is Net-A-Porter who sold the collection across Europe.
The collection was very exciting to me as Peter Pilotto is known for his interesting use of colour and mix of prints. When the collection was finally revealed I wanted it all! Although I have the mentality of a millionaire, I do have the bank balance to match, not even close, so I allowed myself one piece.
I woke up relatively early on Sunday and browsed the collection, I finally landed on one top that ticked all the boxes: flattering shape, a mix of geometric prints and an unexpected pop of colour….. SOLD!
While waiting for my package to arrive I was creeping on Instagram and checking out what other people had purchased, I of course began doubting my choice. First of all I should have gotten a pair of the sunglasses, seeing so many people don them in selfies made me so envious, and secondly, I wonder if I should have gone for a more colourful piece.
A couple of days later my package arrived, after Net-A-Porter had upgraded it to urgent shipping out of the kindness of their hearts (amazing proactive customer service) and all of my doubts went away. The quality of the fabric is very impressive, considering it’s a $30 top, the pop of green is stunning and makes the entire design, and the shape is very flattering. I am over the moon with my piece and cannot wait to start styling it with the rest of my wardrobe.
I hope the success of this collection being sold on net-a-porter means future collaborations will available in Europe, because who doesn’t want high-end designer wear at high street prices?
The collection seems to be sold out on Net-A-Porter, but some pieces are still available in Target for those of you lucky enough to live in the U.S. In the mean time I will be keeping an eye out for a pair of the sunnies online! Did you pick up any of the pieces from this collection? Link me to your posts!
