I was absolutely ecstatic this month when Conor’s family invited me join a celebration at Shanahan’s on the Green for dinner this month. As one of Ireland’s most exclusive restaurants, I have heard amazing reviews about their menu, the steaks in particular, which they are famous for.
I did have to go straight to town from work without getting the opportunity to go home and get changed, so I was very prepared and brought a beautiful jacket and camisole (borrowed from my fabulous sister) and heels with me to work that morning.
WHAT I WORE:
WHAT I WORE:
The weather has been incredibly cold… it is December after all, and while visiting my aunt recently I had mentioned that I was on the hunt for black furry jacket. We were later in her room, going through her wardrobe to find a bag for her to wear to her daughter’s wedding (see post here) when she came across a black fur jacket that she bought decades ago, and has not worn in years and years. I felt absolutely spoiled when she offered me the jacket. I cannot tell you where it is from as the label is missing but I am really excited about the new addition to my wardrobe and love the fact that it is a mint condition vintage piece.
The food was INCREDIBLE! I cannot begin to describe the taste sensation but my mouth is watering just thinking about that Fillet Mignon. I would also recommend the whipped potatoes, fried and onion strings.
Although we were filled to the brim with dinner, somebody did order an Oreo cheesecake for each of us to taste and it was the richest cheesecake I have ever enjoyed.
The service, the ambience and the food were outstanding and I cannot wait to revisit the restaurant again for another special occasion (who knows when that will be but I can dream of the steaks until that day comes).
Have you eaten at Shanahan’s before?
